“Zorica Pavićević paints the way she once built — starting from structure, then layering color, texture, and hidden meaning on top. Trained as an architect before she became a full-time painter, she brings a builder's sense of construction to canvases made from bold, sweeping strokes and rich, urban-inflected color. Every painting carries a symbol or a secret worth searching for.”

The Painting Process
Zorica starts each canvas the way she once started a building: with structure. Before color goes down, she works out the underlying construction of the piece — the lines and forms that will carry everything else. From there, she builds the background in layers, testing different textures and materials as she goes, often mixing acrylic with other media to get a surface that has real depth up close. She favors large formats, the kind of scale that lets a strongly defined stroke read across a room, and she keeps experimenting even late in a piece — adding a mark, a texture, or a hidden symbol that changes how the whole painting reads once it's finished.
